Today I met with many other networkers who work with the senior population and we all wore purple ribbons, thanks to the efforts of Mary Louise Champagne of Home Instead. We did this to show we want elder abuse to stop.
Hey Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm pleased to announced that we raised OVER $700 this year, for a GRAND TOTAL of $776.92! I think Eve will be able to buy her Wii system now. Hooray for the seniors at Jordan's behavioral unit! Great game PNG!!! Congrats to EVERYONE for making this such a successful and fun event! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for supporting such a worthy cause. "One in five Americans experienced some sort of mental illness in 2010, according to a new report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. About 5 percent of Americans have suffered from such severe mental illness that it interfered with day-to-day school, work or family." http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/health/2012/01/19/1-in-5-americans-suffer-from-mental-illness/ We have done some good! :) Next year's game is May 29th at 5pm. Congrats to PNG, Plymouth Networking Group! They creamed the BNG, Bristol Networking Group, in a fun game of softball! Both teams created awareness for mental health during the month of May, Mental Health Awareness Month, by participating in the game and asking players and businesses to donate money for the cause.
