Depression Awareness: One ongoing event that you can order is a Depression Awareness Presentation given by me, Randy Veraguas, the Community Education Manager for EBHS (Elder Behavioral Health Services) a 14 bed inpatient geropsych unit at Morton Hospital in Taunton. This is a great introduction into Depression, going over the different types and characteristics, what to do about it and how people can help.
I have prepared flyers that you can print for advertising the event. I've presented this to a small round table group at Pembroke's COA and up to a large residential group at Whaler's Cove. These can range from 1hr to much more depending on open discussion time.
Most recent: Southeast Rehab in Easton on April 27th at 2:00pm. and Charlwell House on May 18th at 8:30am. Dementia Talk: How to communicate with loved ones who have dementia This one is another very helpful presentation, very basic, but ever so important. I gave this at the Plymouth Beach Emeritus in June and received rave reviews by the community audience members. I'd be more than happy to go over the details of either if you're interested.
